About Savory

Savory is a full-service, boutique hospitality firm on a mission to elevate catering experiences across New York City. We deliver fresher, more reliable, and more thoughtful food programs rooted in quality, consistency, and genuine hospitality.
At Savory, a common thread runs through everything we do: passion. We are passionate about our food, where it comes from, and most importantly, the people we serve - our clients, our partners, and each other. As we continue to grow, we are seeking driven individuals who will make a meaningful impact and help shape the future of our company.

About the role
We are seeking a Sales Manager who is passionate about food, hospitality, and building meaningful client relationships. This is a high-impact, revenue-driving role responsible for independently developing new business relationships, managing client pipelines, and closing both one-off sales opportunities and recurring catering programs.

This is a true sales-focused position. Sales Managers at Savory are responsible for driving new business and closing opportunities, while working in parallel with our Client Services and Events teams who manage order construction, event logistics, and day-of execution. This structure allows our Sales team to stay focused on what they do best - building relationships, developing opportunities, and consistently winning new business.  The ideal candidate thrives on building strong, lasting relationships and is a proactive self-starter who is energized by getting out into the market and growing Savory’s presence across New York City. Success in this role comes from listening closely to client needs, shaping thoughtful solutions, and confidently guiding opportunities through to close.

Key Responsibilities

  • Own the full sales cycle from prospecting through close and expansion, driving new revenue and long-term client growth
  • Identify and develop new business opportunities through networking, outreach, and partnerships
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for inbound catering and event inquiries
  • Build and actively manage a pipeline of qualified opportunities, ensuring consistent follow-up and conversion
  • Meet and exceed revenue targets and booking goals
  • Collaborate with Client Services to bring client needs to life, while maintaining focus on relationship management, deal strategy, and closing
  • Represent Savory at client meetings, site visits, and industry events to increase brand awareness
  • Contribute to sales strategy, including identifying new revenue streams and market opportunities
  • Maintain strong relationships with clients post-sale to drive repeat and long-term business
  • Collaborate with other departments to ensure Savory is providing the best possible array of offerings that meets market needs and keeps up with new and exciting trends in the industry.
  • Possess in-depth understanding of all aspects of catering and event operations to facilitate seamless coordination across all areas of the business from creative, food & beverage, operations, marketing, etc.

What we’re looking for
At Savory, our people are at the heart of everything we do. We’re a collaborative, driven team that values authenticity, curiosity, and a solutions-oriented mindset.

Your experience should show us the following:

  • Proven track record of meeting or exceeding sales targets
  • Strong relationship-building and client management skills
  • Excellent communication and presentation abilities
  • High level of organization and attention to detail
  • Experience with CRM tools (HubSpot preferred)
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high-volume environment
  • Proven adaptability and collaboration skills in a high-volume environment
  • Passion for food, hospitality, and delivering exceptional client experiences

Job requirements & Qualifications:

  • 3+ years of sales experience within hospitality, catering, or a related industry
  • Experience selling into corporate clients and venue-based environments is a plus
  • Willingness to work a flexible schedule, primarily Monday–Friday daytime with occasional evenings or weekends as needed

This role is:

  • A relationship-driven, revenue-focused sales position
  • Focused on closing both one-time events and long-term recurring business

This role is not:

  • An order-entry or BEO-building role
  • Responsible for backend logistics or day-to-day event execution
  • An inbound-only sales role; proactive outbound prospecting is a core expectation

Your decision to complete the form and your answer will not harm you in any way.
